Light-Up LED Pom Poms
Metallic streamers with LEDs built into the pom, a rechargeable pack, and one remote that changes the whole team’s color at once.
$145 USD per pair
For coaches and booster clubs planning the season: put light-up gear on the program list for competition day and night games. Our light-up poms switch colour together by remote at $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs, and each athlete sets our light-up bow to match with its button; see the light-up cheer bows page for bow pricing.
What cheer accessories does a squad need each season?

The checklist, split by who owns each item:
| Accessory | Athlete or program | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Bows | Athlete | Practice, sideline and competition styles |
| Poms | Either | One pair per athlete plus spares; a light-up set works best owned by the program |
| Cheer shoes | Athlete | Soft-soled with a solid sole for competition |
| Socks | Athlete | Matching, bought with the shoes |
| Bag or backpack | Athlete or fundraising | One style for the whole squad |
| Megaphones | Program | Team gear, used every season |
| Signs and banners | Program | Flat signs and banners, stored with the poms |
| Spares kit | Program | Spare bows, hair ties, a spare pom pair |
| Light-up bows and poms | Program | Competition day, night games, lights-out openers, showcases and banquets |

What does a cheerleading accessories budget look like?
One public example. Juab High School in Utah itemises a $1,032 cheerleading clothing and gear fee in its 2025–26 athletics fee schedule. The accessory lines, and what they come to for a squad of 16 (source: Juab High School 2025–26 athletics fee schedule):
| Line | Juab 2025–26 | For a squad of 16 |
|---|---|---|
| Cheer shoes | $119 | $1,904 |
| Bows, 3 sets | $45 | $720 |
| Socks | $15 | $240 |
| Poms | $33 | $528 |
| Total | $212 | $3,392 |
The rest of that fee is uniform pieces and warm-ups. The same schedule says cheer fundraising covers competition signs, backpacks, parade supplies, senior night posters and yard signs. That split is the one to copy: athletes pay for what they keep, and fundraising pays for what the program keeps.
Which accessories should the program own?
Anything that has to match across the squad and outlast one roster:
- Megaphones and signs. Team gear, used every season. Store them with the poms.
- Spares. Two bows of each style, a spare pom pair and hair ties, in one labelled bag.
- Light-up poms. A program-owned set in school colours that changes colour by remote covers every theme night. See high school cheer and pep squad poms.
- Light-up bows, for competition day and night games, so the set stays matched.
Write the program list into the booster budget once, with a replacement line, and the athlete fee stays steady from year to year.
What changes for night games?
Metallic poms and ribbon bows reflect light, so they need the floodlights. When the squad stands in shadow on the track, or the arena drops its lights for an introduction, they go dark with the room. Light-up gear makes its own light. Start with the poms: the diodes are built into the pom, not a single light in the handle, and the colour changes by remote, so the squad switches together. They weigh 7 oz and run on rechargeable lithium-ion packs. At our team rate of $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs:
| Group | Pairs | Cost at the team rate |
|---|---|---|
| Squad of 12 | 14 | $1,680 |
| Squad of 16 | 18 | $2,160 |
| Squad of 24 | 26 | $3,120 |
Pair counts include two spares.
Where do light-up cheer bows fit on the checklist?

On the program list, next to the poms: for competition day on the mat and at awards, night games, lights-out openers and showcases. Our light-up cheer bows are white cheer bows with built-in LEDs: click the button on the bow to change the light colour, or let it cycle through the colours. Set every bow to the same colour and the whole squad glows together. They glow in regular room lighting and under stage lights. Our light-up pom poms change colour together by remote; each bow changes with its own button. To match, every athlete clicks the bow to the pom colour before the squad goes out.
Each bow is about 15.5 by 15 cm (6.1 by 5.9 inches) and about 60 g (2.1 oz). See the light-up cheer bows page for current pack sizes and team pricing. More on the bows: light-up cheer bows for teams, competition cheer bows, the cheer bow size chart and glow bows for night games.

How do you keep a squad’s accessories matched?
- Order the whole roster at once, plus spares, from one maker per item.
- Size shoes in person before the order, not from last year’s size.
- Label everything with the athlete’s name: bags, shoes and bows look identical by design.
- Captain check before every game: bow at the crown, poms charged, shoes tied.
- Photograph the full squad once under game lights, and fix anything that reads differently.
For poms, see the cheer pom poms buying guide; for college programs, college cheer program equipment.
How do you order light-up poms and bows?
See the light-up cheer bows page for current pack sizes and team pricing. Competition rules vary by event, so check with your event producer before using anything lit in a judged routine.
Email or DM us with your squad size, your school colours, your first night game and whether you need poms, bows or both. We make our light-up products ourselves and will tell you plainly what fits your date. See team orders for how a group order works.
Frequently asked questions
What accessories do cheerleaders need?
Bows, cheer shoes, socks and a bag for each athlete, plus poms, megaphones, signs and spares for the squad. Add light-up bows for competition day and night games, and light-up poms for after dark.
Who pays for cheer accessories?
In the fee schedules we found, athletes pay for what they keep, such as shoes and bows, through the season fee, and fundraising or the booster club pays for program gear such as competition signs.
How much do cheer accessories cost per athlete?
Juab High School’s 2025–26 fee schedule lists shoes at $119, three sets of bows at $45, socks at $15 and poms at $33, or $212 for those lines.
Should the program or the athletes own the light-up poms?
The program. A program-owned set in school colours changes colour by remote, so it covers every theme night, stays matched and outlasts one roster.
What shoes do cheerleaders need for competition?
Soft-soled cheer shoes with a solid sole, sized in person before the order and bought with matching socks.
Do light-up bows match light-up poms?
Yes, when every athlete sets the bow to the pom colour. The poms change together by remote; each bow changes with its own button. See the light-up cheer bows page for current pack sizes and team pricing. The poms are $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs.
