Which teams order light-up bandanas in bulk?

Bandanas in bulk are the fastest way to light a whole roster. Our light-up bandana is the piece directors put on every dancer: a classic paisley-print bandana with LEDs built in, lightweight, one size and easy to tie.
The teams that order them:
- Pro and college dance teams adding a lit layer to the uniform they already have, for timeouts, halftime and theme nights.
- Hip-hop crews and step teams who already wear bandanas and want them to read in a dark room.
- Line dance and country troupes building a western bandana outfit.
- Adult and older-teen studio teams who want a glow number without new costumes.
If your search started at custom bandanas, here is how a team makes ours its own: the color you pick for each dancer or section, the light setting and the way the whole line ties it.
What every bandana includes
- 22 x 22 in, standard bandana size, so it ties at the neck, as a headband, on the arm or at the thigh
- Built-in LEDs with three settings: solid, twinkle and flash
- 10+ hours of light on replaceable coin-cell batteries (runtime depends on the mode; solid lasts longest)
- Lightweight, breathable fabric for a full routine
- Eight colors: Pink, White, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Purple and Blue
Because the batteries are replaceable, a bandana works for the whole season, not one night. Swap the cells before a big game or show and the line looks the same at the last timeout as it did at the first.
Six ways a team wears one bandana

| How it is tied | Where it works | Best light setting |
|---|---|---|
| Neckerchief, point in front | Western nights, line dance and game-night looks | Solid |
| Folded headband | Hip-hop and step routines with big head moves | Flash on the hits |
| Tied around the upper arm | Arm-heavy choreography | Twinkle |
| Tied at the thigh | Jazz and pom lines with kicks | Solid |
| Hanging from a back pocket or waistband | Crews in denim or cargo pants | Twinkle |
| Neck on the line, headband on the feature group | Big rosters that want two looks from one piece | Solid on the line, flash on the feature |
Test every tie at a full-speed run-through. Kicks, turns and floor work loosen knots, and a bandana that slips is the one the camera finds. Pick one tie for the whole line and drill it like choreography.
Which light setting reads best in a routine?
Pick the setting by the music, not by preference, and write it on the run sheet so every dancer starts the same.
- Solid: the cleanest line from the stands and on video, and the longest runtime. The default for a full routine.
- Twinkle: softer movement for slow sections, walk-ons and bows.
- Flash: for drops, hits and the final pose. Use it in short bursts so it stays special.
Set every bandana before the team takes the floor. A line with three bandanas still on flash during a solid section looks like a mistake from the top rows.
Color plans for a full roster
Eight colors give you three simple plans:
- One color, whole team. The strongest look in a dark arena or theater. Pick the color closest to your team color.
- Split by section. Front row in one color, back row in another, so formations change shape when the lines cross.
- Theme-night color. Pink, red, green or orange for a theme night, with your usual color the rest of the season.
Each bandana glows in the color you order. If your team also carries our light-up pom poms, those change color by remote, and the team rate is $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs. Order bandanas to match the pom color you use most.
Batteries, safety and who handles them
Our bandanas run on replaceable coin-cell batteries. That is why we position them for adult, pro, college and older-teen teams, never young kids. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission warns that a swallowed coin battery can burn through a child’s throat in as little as two hours (source: U.S. CPSC).
- Give one adult, usually the team manager, coach or wardrobe lead, the job of batteries.
- Swap cells in the locker room or dressing room, not in the stands.
- Keep spares and used cells in a closed bag, away from children.
- Switch bandanas off between sets; solid mode lasts longest.
Add one feature piece to the bandana line
Bandanas carry the full line. For the front row, captains or a feature group, add one bigger piece:
- LED fringe sequin jacket for intros and opening numbers: LED fringe front and back, one solid color or color-changing modes by remote, with brightness control.
- Full LED body harness over a catsuit for a halftime feature.
- LED halter harness over a bodysuit or crop top for pom, jazz and hip-hop teams.
A 20-dancer team might put bandanas on all 20 and jackets on the six dancers who open the number. For game nights, see NBA dance team bandana routines; for a cowgirl look, see western theme night dance costumes. The full range is in our guide to light-up dance team outfits for team orders.
