NBA theme nights are dated home games built around a community or a cause: Pride nights, the league’s Noches Éne•Bé•A Latin nights, Black History nights and nights for veterans, first responders and teachers. On the 2026–27 schedules, the Lakers held their Pride Night on October 8, and the Pacers list Black History Night on February 1, Noche Ene Be A on March 16 and Pride Night on March 30. For the dance team, the order is one set of light-up poms that changes colour by remote, so the line matches every night. Our team rate is $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs.

What are Noches Éne•Bé•A nights?

Noches Éne•Bé•A is the NBA’s annual Latin Nights program. The 2024 edition was the 18th; all 30 teams wore specially designed warmup shirts in early March, and team nights included musical performances by Latin American artists and giveaways (source: NBA Communications). For a dance team, that means sharing the floor with a live performer: agree the window and the colour with the act before the night.

What colour plan does each night need?

Night Colour plan for the poms
Pride Night A split set or colour groups across the line; tell us the plan when you order
Latin night The night’s colours for the feature number, team colours for the rest of the game
Black History Night The colours your community partner chooses
Veterans and first responders Red and blue as a split set: the raised pom one colour, the low pom the other
Cause nights Pink or lavender; see cancer awareness night ideas
Everything else Team colours, saved on the remote

Agree each night’s colour with community relations before the season, then write it into the game-presentation script.

Why order one colour-changing set instead of a set per theme?

A metallic pom is one colour forever, so a schedule with six theme nights means six extra sets, six times the storage and six chances for the shades not to match. A light-up set changes colour by remote: the captain switches the whole line on the cue, and the same poms go back to team colours for the next game. The diodes are built into the pom, so the colour reads from the far side of the bowl, not just courtside.

How do you stage the theme-night moment?

  1. Pick the window. A mandatory timeout runs 2:45 in a local game and halftime runs 15 minutes (source: NBA Rule No. 5).
  2. Dim the house with the arena’s lighting team.
  3. The line switches colour on the announcer’s cue.
  4. The video board carries the night’s honorees or partners.
  5. Lights up, and the poms return to team colours.

Where do co-ed hype squads fit on theme nights?

Some clubs run two groups. In 2026–27 the Spurs bring back the all-women Silver Dancers to join the co-ed Hype Squad of dancers, break dancers, tumblers and stunters (source: KSAT). The Hype Squad brought breakdance routines and dynamic stunts to the arena (source: San Antonio Current). Stunters and tumblers need their hands, so the poms belong to the dance numbers; the hype squad carries the athletic moment. Plan the night so each group has its own window.

What will a theme-night set cost?

At our team rate of $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs:

Group Pairs Cost at the team rate
Dance team of 14 16 $1,920
Dance team of 18 20 $2,400
Dance team plus hype squad dancers, 26 together 28 $3,360

Pair counts include two spares. One set covers the full theme-night calendar and every regular game.

Who pays for the theme-night set?

Line Who usually pays Notes
Dance team poms Entertainment or game-presentation budget One set for the season
Theme-night sponsor Partnerships A sponsor can fund the set and own its night
Fan giveaway Promotions The Lakers paired Pride Night with a T-shirt
Custom LED face stickers A sponsor 1,000-unit minimum, quoted

Who runs what on the day?

Role Job
Community relations The partner and the night’s colour
Promotions Giveaway and sponsor
Game presentation Lights, video board and the cue
Dance team director The routine and the colour change
Team captain The remote

One cue sheet per theme night, shared by all five, keeps the colour change inside the timeout.

How do you request a quote for a theme-night set?

Email or DM us with your theme-night dates, the colours you need on the remote, the number of dancers and the date of your first theme night. We make our light-up products ourselves and will tell you plainly what fits your date. See team orders for how a group order works.

Frequently asked questions

What are NBA theme nights?

Dated home games built around a community or cause, such as Pride nights, Latin nights, Black History nights and nights for veterans, first responders and teachers.
