$249 USD
For stylists, creative directors and fashion-film producers: we design light-up couture, fringe looks, jackets and headpieces that glow in the frame, with color set by remote to match your palette. Our pieces have shown at New York and Los Angeles Fashion Week. Every custom piece is quoted; send us your mood board and shoot date.
Which light-up pieces can a stylist order for a fashion film or editorial?

Neon Cowboys is a designer-led light-up fashion house, founded in 2014 by Asia Hall, a computer science graduate and the daughter of couturier Kevan Hall. We design light-up clothing that reads as fashion first, and our pieces have shown at New York and Los Angeles Fashion Week. For a shoot we offer:
- One-off couture: a light-up look designed for your story, from your mood board.
- Our collection: the LED fringe sequin dress, the LED fringe sequin jacket, the LED rhinestone gem headpiece, LED harnesses, the light-up nudie suit and our EL wire Out Past Midnight boots.
- Multiples: matched looks in custom colors for a group editorial or a runway finale.
- Props and set pieces: a glowing hand prop or a light-up set element built from scratch.
We sell, so the pieces stay with you or your client after the shoot. Custom work is quoted.
The light-up fashion references creative teams bring
Light-up clothing has a runway history, and mood boards often start there. For Autumn/Winter 2007/8 in Paris, Hussein Chalayan, in a collaboration with Swarovski, showed a dress with a full video display from 15,600 LEDs programmed by Moritz Waldemeyer, covered in thousands of crystals (source: Dezeen). CuteCircuit’s Galaxy Dress, called the world’s largest wearable LED display at 24,000 full-color LEDs, was the centerpiece of the Fast Forward: Inventing the Future exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago (source: Wikipedia).
Those were runway and museum pieces. A fashion film needs a look that lasts through a long shoot day, moves with the model and sits inside your lighting plan. That is the brief we design for.
Campaign and editorial work our pieces have shot
Our pieces have been on camera for major brands. Apple used a Neon Cowboys LED cowboy hat to showcase iPhone 13 low-light night photography. Google put our Out Past Midnight boots in a Google Lens commercial and on six-story billboards, and we were part of a Google Black Friday 2022 spot. Adobe’s 2021 campaign celebrating Black creatives, which aired on Hulu, featured our founder on camera as a fashion designer and inventor. We have also made commissions for Topo Chico, Cash App and Don Julio.
On set, color and light mode change by remote, the jacket holds a single solid color with adjustable brightness, and the packs hide in the garment. Talk to us about your camera and lighting plan before you lock the looks.

Sequins catch the light; the LED fringe makes it
$345 USD
Fashion films: light that moves with the body

A fashion film is about movement, so we design light that moves. The LED fringe sequin dress has one layer of LED fringe from a V seam at the hips, so every step swings the light. The jacket carries LED fringe front and back, so it reads on a turn. The headpiece sets hundreds of hand-set crystals across the brow and lights them in color, framing the face in a close shot. The dress and jacket run about 4+ hours per charge, so plan pack swaps across a long day and keep a charged spare with the stylist.
For a long walk-and-turn sequence or a stunt, order a double of the hero look, so a second look keeps the day moving while the first one is reset.

Format, look and light behavior
| Format | What we make | Light behavior | Ask us about |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fashion film | One-off couture or a hero look plus a double | Color change or slow fade, timed to the edit | Movement and pack placement |
| Editorial stills | Hero looks and headpieces | A single solid color; brightness by remote on the jacket and harness | Your camera and lighting plan |
| Runway | Matched multiples for a finale | Every look switched to one color | Charging between shows |
| Lookbook and e-commerce | Our collection pieces | Lit and unlit frames of the same look | Colors for each frame |
| Brand campaign | Custom pieces in the brand’s colors | Brand colors by remote | Multiples for talent and doubles |
Send the format with your mood board and we will quote the looks as one order.
How many looks does a shoot need?
Start with the hero looks, one for each model or talent, and add a double of any look that walks, dances or appears in a stunt. A group editorial or a runway finale needs matched multiples: the LED fringe dress runs XS to 4X with stretch fabric and adjustable straps, the jacket fits US women’s Small to Large, and the LED harness is unisex and adjusts to chests from 34 to 44 inches. For one-off couture, send measurements with the mood board.
Fittings matter more with light-up clothing, because the pack has to hide in the garment. Plan a fitting with the pieces lit, in the light you will shoot in.
