Light-Up LED Pom Poms
Metallic streamers with LEDs built into the pom, a rechargeable pack, and one remote that changes the whole team’s color at once.
$145 USD per pair
For cheer coaches recruiting next season’s squad: our LED pom poms change color together by remote, so your lights-down sideline moment becomes the clip prospects watch and share. Light-up cheer bows match it with a button on each bow. Pom team pricing is $120 a pair on 10+ pairs.
What makes a high school athlete want your cheer program?

Game day. College programs recruit with it on purpose. The University of Arizona’s 2027 recruiting weekend runs campus tours, a team Q&A and a coed partner stunt clinic on Friday, then takes every participant to a women’s basketball game on Saturday for the team’s pre-game warmup and halftime performance (source: University of Arizona Cheer clinics). The clinic teaches the skills. The game sells the program.
Most prospects see your game nights long before they visit, and they see them on a phone. The moment that travels is the one that looks different from every other sideline: the house lights drop and your whole squad’s poms switch to the school color on one count. Our LED pom poms are built for that clip. The LEDs are in the pom itself, and one remote changes every pair together.
Where recruits see your program first
Coaches see recruits at clinics and in tryout videos. Texas Tech Cheer, for example, picks its squads through a preliminary video round, with 2027–28 skills videos due April 20, 2027 and invitation-only in-person tryouts May 14 to 16, 2027 (source: Texas Tech Spirit Program tryouts). UConn’s prep clinic may give select seniors and college students a Fast Pass to the second round of tryouts (source: UConn Spirit college prep clinic).
Recruits see you everywhere else, and by the time one films a tryout video or signs up for your clinic, they have already decided your program is worth it. Plan what they see at each step:
| Touchpoint | What the recruit sees | What to give them |
|---|---|---|
| Your feed in football season | Game-night clips from the sideline | The lights-down color change, filmed wide |
| A home game visit | The squad under the lights, live | A lights-down timeout routine |
| Your recruitment clinic | Your coaches, your material, your team | A finale with the gym lights down |
| Tryout season | Your posted tryout dates and video round | A pinned clip of the squad at its best |
Film the lights-down color change
The clip prospects stop for is short: lights down, one count, the whole line changes color. Here is how to get it.
- Pick the moment. A timeout or a between-quarters light show, when the venue drops the lights.
- Set the color plan. Start in white or your second color, then switch to the school color on the count. One remote runs every pair, so nobody misses the switch.
- Film wide. Get the full line and the crowd in frame. A tight shot of one pom says nothing about the squad.
- Charge before the game. Each pom runs 3 to 4 hours per charge, and white and rainbow drain faster, so save those modes for the clip.
- Shoot the daytime version too. The full metallic streamers work as a regular pom in daylight, so the same poms carry the afternoon pep rally.
Which game nights should you film for recruitment?
Pick nights with a reason to post. A short list most programs can plan around:
- The home opener. The first lights-down moment of the season, posted while juniors are choosing fall clinics.
- Homecoming. Alumni in the stands, a full student section and one of the biggest crowds of the year.
- A cause or theme night. Switch the whole squad to the cause color for one quarter, then back to team colors.
- The basketball lights-out intro. Indoor, dark and loud: the cleanest color change you will film all year.
- Senior night. The seniors leaving are the reason you are recruiting, so let them lead the color change.
- Your clinic finale. Your team performing for the prospects in the room, lights down.
Post the clips before your clinic dates and your tryout deadlines, not after. Our guide to spring vs. fall cheer and dance clinics lays out when those fall.
Light-up bows that match the poms

The bow is the one piece every athlete on your squad wears. Our light-up cheer bows are white bows with built-in LEDs, and a button on each bow changes the color. There is no remote and no app, and there is a hair-tie option. Set every bow to the pom color before the game and the squad reads as one unit from the top row of the stands.
Packs and team pricing are on the product page; for the full range, see light-up cheer bows for teams. Prospects at your clinic or tryout follow your posted dress code. The lit bows are for your squad’s game nights and finales.

Frequently asked questions
What content helps cheer recruitment most?
Game-night clips. Prospects picture themselves on your sideline under the lights, so film the lights-down moment wide, with the whole squad and the crowd in frame.
How do LED pom poms change color together?
One remote changes every pair at once, so the whole squad switches on the same count. The LEDs are built into the pom itself, not one light in the handle.
How long do the poms last per charge?
3 to 4 hours per charge. White and rainbow modes drain faster, so charge before the game and save them for the clip.
Do the light-up cheer bows use the same remote?
No. Each bow has its own button that changes the color, with no remote and no app. Set every bow to the pom color before the game.
Should prospects bring light-up gear to a clinic or tryout?
Prospects follow the program’s posted dress code and material. The light-up gear in this guide is for your own squad’s game nights and finales.
What does a team order cost?
Poms are $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs, so a 16-member squad is $1,920. Bow packs and pricing are on the product page.
