Light-Up LED Pom Poms
Metallic streamers with LEDs built into the pom, a rechargeable pack, and one remote that changes the whole team’s color at once.
$145 USD per pair
For pro, college and dance team directors buying poms the squad will keep: ours carry over 100 LEDs built into each pom, full metallic streamers and rechargeable packs, and one remote changes the whole line together. The Las Vegas Raiderettes used theirs again this season. Team pricing is $120 a pair on 10+ pairs.
What pro and college squads look for in professional cheer pom poms

Professional cheerleading pom poms are bought like uniforms: once, for the whole team, and expected at every game. Four things decide the order, and each one is a construction choice we make before a pom leaves our hands.
| What the squad needs | How our poms are built for it |
|---|---|
| Fullness that reads from the stands | About 1,500 metallic strands per pom, about 14.2 inches across tip to tip on 6-inch streamers |
| A handle that stays solid through a routine | A 2.7-inch double-ended baton handle with the battery pack integrated on it, out of the way while you dance |
| Color that holds up under the lights | Full metallic streamers that sparkle like a regular pom under stadium lights, plus over 100 LEDs per pom (50+ on each side) for when the lights drop |
| One look across the whole line | One remote changes every pair together, and split sets put the raised pom in one color and the low pom in another |
How we engineer our poms for performance and dance

Neon Cowboys is a designer-led light-up fashion house, founded in 2014 by Asia Hall. We hold a utility patent for our LED cowboy hat, the piece the brand started with. We’ve outfitted Beyoncé’s dancers on tour. We over-engineer our cheerleader pom poms for performers who move hard under lights.
- The light is in the pom itself. Many LED diodes are built in along the streamers, not a single light in the handle, so the whole pom glows.
- Full metallic streamers. In daylight it works as a regular metallic pom.
- Custom rechargeable lithium-ion packs. Light-up poms that carry batteries tend to be heavy. Ours stay at 7 oz per pom because we build custom packs instead of using DIY AAA battery packs.
- One remote for the whole squad. Every pair changes color on the same count, from about 65 to 80 feet with a clear line of sight.
- Split sets. The raised pom runs one color and the low pom another.
Durability test videos are on the way.
Why squads pass ours down season to season

A squad keeps a set that still looks like the team’s set next season. The color comes from the remote, so the same poms run team colors all season and a cause color on theme nights, and nothing about the set is tied to one roster. When the program owns the set, the poms stay when seniors graduate.
We built a custom set of LED pom poms for the Las Vegas Raiderettes, and the Raiderettes used them again this season (see the Las Vegas Raiderettes case study). The Purdue Golduster Dance Team, the dance line of the Purdue “All-American” Marching Band, ordered 24 pairs in September 2026 and performed with them on the field (source: Purdue Bands: Golduster Dance Team; see the Purdue Goldusters case study).
Running a team-owned set: sign-out sheet, spares and a season-end check

Passing a set down works when someone owns the inventory: numbered pairs, two spares and one sheet kept by the captain or the team manager. Keep the remote, the cables and the spares in one team bin. At season end, count, charge and fluff every pair, then hand the set and the sheet to the next squad at its first rehearsal.
| On the sheet | What to write |
|---|---|
| Pair number | The number on that pair |
| Dancer | Who has it this season |
| Date out and date back | So the count is never a guess |
| Condition | Fluffed, charged, anything to check |
How do you fluff cheerleading pom poms?
Metallic poms arrive a little flat from the box and flatten again in a bag between games. A full, round pom comes from a good shake.
- Open the box carefully, so no blade touches the streamers.
- Hold the pom by the handle and shake it hard, turning it to shake from every side.
- Separate strands that stick together by hand, gently, without twisting or creasing them.
- Shake again until both sides are round and even. Before every game, a few hard shakes bring it back.
Never use heat: no hair dryer, steam or iron. Heat can damage metallic streamers, and these poms carry electronics and a battery.
How do you store pom poms between seasons?
- Dry first. After a damp outdoor game, let every pom air-dry fully before it goes into a bag or bin.
- Loose, not crushed. Upright in a bin or in their own bags, with nothing heavy on top and no zippers catching strands.
- Cool and out of the sun. A team closet works; a hot car trunk, an attic or a sunny window does not.
- Charged, not flat. Charge every pack before storage and again before the first rehearsal.
Charging before game day
Each pom charges by USB-C, like a phone, and gives 3 to 4 hours of light per charge. White and rainbow modes drain the battery faster than a single solid color, so run team colors for the long stretches and save white or rainbow for the feature moment. Charge the whole set the night before every game.
What to ask before you buy any professional pom
Whoever you buy from, these questions separate equipment a squad keeps from poms that get replaced every season. Ask them of us too.
- Does it shed? Shake a pom hard over a dark floor when the order arrives.
- Does the handle stay solid, or does it twist and loosen mid-routine?
- Does it spring back after it has been packed flat in a bag?
- Where are the lights? Along the streamers, or a single light in the handle?
- What powers it? Rechargeable packs or disposable batteries, and how long per charge?
How much do professional cheer pom poms cost per season?
Divide what you pay by the seasons you use the set. At our team rate of $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs, a squad of 20 with two spares is 22 pairs, or $2,640:
| If your squad uses the set for | Cost per pair, per season | 22-pair set, per season |
|---|---|---|
| 1 season | $120 | $2,640 |
| 2 seasons | $60 | $1,320 |
| 3 seasons | $40 | $880 |
A pair at the $120 team rate used for 3 seasons is $40 a season; passed to the next squad, it keeps dividing. The same set also covers team colors, a pink out and a cause night, so theme nights need no extra pom order.
Ordering cheer pom poms in bulk for your team
Order one pair per performer, plus two spares, on the team order page. The same rate applies to pom poms for a dance team, a cheer squad or a band dance line:
| Group | Pairs | Cost at the team rate |
|---|---|---|
| Pro dance team of 24 | 26 | $3,120 |
| College dance line of 20 | 22 | $2,640 |
| Cheer squad of 14 | 16 | $1,920 |
Pair counts include two spares. Tell us your team colors and whether you want split sets, and we will confirm the color breakdown with you before production.
Email or DM us with your team name, the number of performers, your colors and your first game or event date. We make our light-up products ourselves and will tell you plainly what fits your date. See team orders for how a group order works.
