What can a junior cheer clinic fundraiser pay for?

Cheer clinic fundraiser night: college squad in purple raises purple LED pom poms on a dark stadium track at halftime

Next season’s look. A junior clinic is a fundraiser with a built-in audience: kids pay a fee, learn a cheer and a dance from your team, and perform with you at halftime. Programs say plainly where the money goes. In 2013 the Benilde-St. Margaret’s school paper in Minnesota reported that the dance team’s clinic for girls 4 to 12 “raises money to pay for the dance team’s costumes, accessories, and other performance essentials” (source: The Knight Errant, Benilde-St. Margaret’s).

Point this year’s clinic at one purchase the team keeps: a set of our LED pom poms in your team colors.

  • $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs, the team rate.
  • LEDs built into the pom, over 100 per pom, not one light in the handle, behind full metallic streamers that work as regular poms in daylight.
  • One remote changes every pair’s color together.
  • Rechargeable, 3 to 4 hours per charge.

Name the goal on the registration page, for example “20 pairs of light-up poms,” so families know what their fee builds.

What 2026 junior clinics charged and raised

These are real 2026 youth cheer clinics, from each program’s own registration page:

Program Who Fee and what it includes The performance
Grand Valley State University Spirit Youth Clinic K to 8 dancers and cheerleaders $65: T-shirt, poms, meal and a game ticket Halftime of the Football Family Day game, Sept. 19, 2026
Provo High Cheer Junior Cheer Clinic (Utah) Pre-K to 8th grade $45: T-shirt and bow; three one-hour sessions, Sept. 8 to 10 Halftime of the varsity football game, Sept. 11; $8,237 raised against a $5,000 goal
Kearns High Mini Cheer (Utah) Ages 2 to 17 $40: T-shirt, poms or a mini megaphone, certificate and one game ticket Halftime of the Sept. 17 football game
American Fork High Cheer Mini Clinic (Utah) Ages 3 to 12 Clinic Aug. 6, 2026, with the high school cheer team Home scrimmage Aug. 8; $3,253 raised against a $2,000 goal
Missouri State Junior Bears Ages 5 to 14 $50: T-shirt, a clinic with the Missouri State cheerleaders and two game tickets A basketball halftime performance

The pattern holds from preschool to middle school: a fee of $40 to $65, a shirt, a short clinic and a halftime spot. GVSU even puts poms in the fee, and its registration ran from May 4 to Sept. 1 or until capacity filled (sources: Grand Valley State University Spirit Youth Clinic, Provo High Cheer Junior Cheer Clinic, Kearns High Mini Cheer, American Fork High Cheer Mini Clinic, Missouri State Junior Bears).

How many pairs of poms does one clinic buy?

Here is the worksheet. Costs assume $10 a child for the shirt and a share of the gym, so swap in your own quotes.

Kids or participants x fee Gross Minus shirts and facility Net Pairs at $120 (10+ pairs)
40 x $45 $1,800 $400 $1,400 11 pairs ($1,320)
50 x $50 $2,500 $500 $2,000 16 pairs ($1,920)
75 x $50 $3,750 $750 $3,000 25 pairs ($3,000)
100 x $65 $6,500 $1,000 $5,500 45 pairs ($5,400)

If a sponsor covers the shirts, 50 kids at $50 is $2,500 gross, enough for 20 pairs ($2,400). Provo High’s 2026 clinic page shows what a strong turnout does: $8,237 raised, more than a 60-pair set at the team rate ($7,200).

The halftime finale parents film

Youth cheer clinic showcase: seven college cheerleaders hold blue-glowing LED pom poms on a dark arena baseline

The kids’ performance is the moment every parent records, and those clips are what sell next year’s clinic. Give them something worth filming: your team on the field or court behind the kids, poms lit in team colors.

  1. Kids in front, team behind. The kids do the cheer and dance they learned, and your team frames them in one line.
  2. Ask for the lights. If the stadium or arena can drop the lights for halftime, the poms carry the picture. If not, the metallic streamers still read in full light.
  3. One color change on a count. Start in team colors and change on the last eight-count; one remote does the whole line.
  4. Finish facing the stands. End toward the parents’ section, so the phones catch faces and poms.

Post the best parent clip with next year’s date the same week. That is your registration ad.

Running the clinic day

The clinic itself is short. GVSU ran check-in from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. and the clinic from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. before a 7:00 p.m. kickoff, with the halftime performance around 7:45. Provo High ran three one-hour afternoon sessions before Friday’s game.

  • Group by age. The youngest learn one cheer; older kids add a short dance.
  • One team member per small group, with the coaches floating.
  • Close registration early. Provo closed registration Aug. 31 for a Sept. 8 clinic, which locks the shirt order.
  • Plan pickup. Kearns ran its halftime performance followed by pickup, so parents knew where to be.

Charge the team’s poms the night before and give one coach the remote.

One clinic, one set, every season after

Shirts are worn once. A set of team poms is not. Our poms are rechargeable, run 3 to 4 hours per charge (white and rainbow modes drain faster), and the same set works the junior clinic, every home game, pink-out night in pink and senior night in team colors. Next year’s clinic can then fund costumes or travel instead.

Junior and rec program directors can order the same set for their own squads; see youth cheer pom poms for junior and rec programs. The poms are a real team product, too: the Purdue Golduster Dance Team ordered 24 pairs in September 2026 and performed with them on the field.
