LED Pom Poms — Team Order
Metallic streamers with LEDs built into the pom, a rechargeable pack, and one remote that changes the whole team’s color at once.
$120 USD per pair · 10-pair minimum
For youth and rec cheer directors: a program-owned set of our light-up pom poms gives a demo group or halftime feature a matched, glowing look that changes colour by remote, and a fundraiser or sponsor can pay for it once. Team pricing is $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs.
How are junior cheer programs paid for?

A program-owned light-up set is paid for the way every extra in youth cheer is: a fundraiser, a sponsor or the parent association, on top of the fees families already pay. University youth clinics show what a fee usually covers:
| Program | Ages | Fee | What the fee covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Valley State Spirit Youth Clinic, 2026 | K–8 | $65 | T-shirt, poms, a meal, a game ticket and a halftime performance opportunity at the Family Day football game |
| Missouri State Junior Bears | 5–14 | $50 | A camp T-shirt, a clinic with the university cheerleaders and a basketball halftime performance, with two tickets |
Sources: Grand Valley State University, Missouri State University. In our experience, community and rec programs run on the same three sources: a season fee, purchases parents make for their own child, and fundraisers for anything extra.
Where do light-up poms fit in a youth budget?
Honestly: not inside a clinic fee. At our team rate of $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs, one pair per child doesn’t fit a fee that also covers a shirt and a ticket. Light-up poms fit a youth program in four other ways:
| Use | Who pays | Why it works |
|---|---|---|
| A program-owned set for a demo or feature group | A fundraiser or a sponsor | Bought once, lent out every season |
| The senior squad leading the children | The high school or college program | The leaders glow and the children follow them |
| A sponsored halftime moment | A local business | The sponsor is thanked on the night |
| A family buying for one child | Parents | Single pairs are on the product page |
What does a program-owned set look like?
- Ten pairs or more, enough for the oldest group or the front row.
- Silver streamers, so the set suits whatever colours the program performs in.
- Labelled pairs and a sign-out sheet; poms go out at the performance and come back after.
- One remote with the coach. It runs every pair from about 65 to 80 feet with a clear line of sight, so no child has to work a button.
- Adults do the charging by USB-C. The poms run on rechargeable packs on the handle, so there are no loose batteries to hand to children.
- About 7 oz per pom; rehearse with them so the children are used to the weight before game day.
Are light-up face stickers right for a youth event?
Not for the performers. Face stickers are a favor for parents and older students in the stands.
Our stickers run on a CR2032 coin battery. Hand them to adults and older students, keep spares and used batteries away from young children, and follow the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s coin-battery guidance (source: U.S. CPSC). They are made for fans, guests and performers off the competition floor, not for athletes in a USASF cheer routine.
How do programs fund a set?
| Line | Who usually pays | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Earmarked fundraiser | Families and supporters | Name the goal: one set the program keeps |
| Sponsor | A local business | Thanked at the halftime performance |
| Parent or booster association | Association funds, after a vote | Program-owned; the set stays with the director |
| Season fee | Families, spread across seasons | A set used for several seasons costs little per child per year |
| Families | Parents, for their own child | Single pairs from the product page |
Decide ownership first. A set the program owns is lent, collected, charged and counted every season; pairs families buy go home with the child.
How many pairs does a program need?
At our team rate of $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs:
| Group | Pairs | Cost at the team rate |
|---|---|---|
| Junior coaches and leaders | 10 | $1,200 |
| Demo group of 10 | 12 | $1,440 |
| Front row of 16 | 18 | $2,160 |
| Oldest division of 24 | 27 | $3,240 |
Counts include spares, except the leaders’ set, which meets the 10-pair minimum on its own.
How do you run a halftime performance with a youth group?
- Get the slot in writing from the host school or team’s game operations: the game, the length and whether the lights go down.
- Rehearse with the poms at the clinic. Weight and length change how a motion lands, and no child should hold them for the first time at the game.
- Keep it simple: big, unison arm motions and one colour change read from the stands.
- Adults run the remote and hand poms out at the tunnel, then collect them as the children come off.
- Count and charge the set after the game, before it goes back into storage.
What is a realistic timeline?
| When | What to lock in |
|---|---|
| Before registration opens | Decide whether the program will own a set, and who funds it |
| Funding confirmed | Request a quote with the performance date |
| Clinic day | The children rehearse with the poms |
| Performance day | Remotes with the coach; poms out at the tunnel and back after |
| End of season | Count, charge and store the set |
Send your performance date when you ask for a quote and we will tell you plainly what fits.
Who runs what on the day?
| Role | Job |
|---|---|
| Program director | Whether to own a set, and the order |
| Treasurer or parent association | Funding and the vote |
| Host team’s game operations | The halftime slot and the lights |
| Senior squad or junior coaches | Teaching the routine and leading on the field |
| Parent volunteers | The sign-out sheet, charging and the count |
Put one adult in charge of the set from sign-out to storage.
How do you request a quote for a youth program?
Email or DM us with the number of children, how many pairs the program will own, who is paying and your performance date. We make our light-up products ourselves and will tell you plainly what fits your date. See team orders for how a group order works.
Frequently asked questions
What pom poms do youth cheer programs use?
Clinic fees often cover a shirt and a ticket, and some include a basic pair of poms. Light-up poms suit a program-owned set for a demo group or a featured halftime moment.
Who pays for youth cheer equipment?
Usually families, through registration fees, parent purchases and fundraisers, with sponsors for anything extra.
Is there a team rate for youth programs?
The team rate is $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs. A demo group of 10 with two spares is 12 pairs, or $1,440 at that rate.
Do light-up poms use coin batteries?
No. They run on rechargeable packs on the handle, charged by USB-C. Our face stickers do use CR2032 coin batteries, so keep those away from young children.
Can the children keep the poms?
If families buy them, yes. If the program owns the set, poms are lent for the performance and collected after.
Can performers wear light-up face stickers?
Not youth performers. Hand them to parents and older students in the stands; they are also not for athletes in a USASF cheer routine.
