Which light-up pieces suit a burlesque troupe costume?
A burlesque or cabaret troupe already owns the base of the costume: corsets, bodysuits, gloves, fans and gowns. What it usually lacks is light that belongs to the performers rather than the rig. Four of our pieces fill that gap for a troupe of 5 to 30:
- LED Fringe Garter Belt: light-up LED fringe at the hips that glows and sways, made to each performer’s measurements, in pink, black or white. Our product page calls it a burlesque and showgirl staple, and it is the easiest place to start.

Light that reads from the back of the house
Burlesque and cabaret rooms are dark by design. Footlights and a follow spot carry a soloist, but a troupe number spreads performers across the stage and the edges of the line fall into shadow. Wearable light fixes that. Each performer carries their own glow, so the whole formation reads from the last row and on every phone in the room.
Movement is the point. Fringe swings with every hip roll and turn, and our harnesses trace the lines of the body. The harnesses are color-changing and also have a sound-reactive mode, so the light can pulse with the music at the peak of a number. The jacket switches between one solid color and color-changing modes by wireless remote, with brightness control.
The result looks like part of the costume, not a gadget: black straps, silver hardware, sequins and fringe, with the light built in.

Settle the settings at dress rehearsal and write them on the running order, so every performer switches at the same moment. For a short number, two looks are plenty: one for the entrance and one for the finale.

Troupe competitions, festivals and residencies
Group numbers have their own place on the burlesque circuit. The Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend is a four-day convention held each year in Las Vegas (source: Wikipedia: Burlesque Hall of Fame), and its 2026 Tournament of Tease featured Small Group and Large Group entries, with special awards that included Most Dazzling (source: 21st Century Burlesque).
Troupes also play festivals, private events and weekly residencies. For those shows, a lit number gives regulars something new without rebuilding the costume, and the pieces travel in one bag. Competition rules vary by event, so check with your event producer before using anything lit in a judged routine.
Who handles the troupe order?
One person should own the order, usually the troupe director or the costume lead. They collect sizes and measurements, choose colors and send one email. When the producer or venue pays for costumes, copy whoever signs off on the budget.
