Shop all light up stagewear →Built for fire, flow and everything after dark
Fire and flow performers work in the dark, in motion, and inches from open flame. Your stagewear has to do three things at once: read from the back row, move with every spin and toss, and stay out of the way once the props are lit.
Whether you spin fire fans and poi, work a fire staff or dragon staff, dance fire hoop, or handle palm torches and levi wands, Neon Cowboys adds a second layer of light to your act. When the flames dim between burns, our LED harnesses, metallic fringe and light-up accessories keep you the brightest thing on stage, and keep every phone in the crowd filming.
A note on fire safety: our light-up pieces are stagewear, not fire-retardant gear. Keep any flame-facing layer to your fire-safe kit, and use our LEDs, fringe and metallics as your visual layer, for the parts of your look and set that stay clear of the flame.

Fire & flow performer questions
What do fire performers wear on stage?
Fire and flow performers wear high-visibility, close-fitting stagewear that reads under low light and moves freely through spins, tosses and transitions. A typical look pairs a fire-safe base layer with statement pieces that photograph: LED harnesses, metallic fringe, light-up hats and glowing accessories that keep you lit even when the flames dim.
What should I wear for fire fans, poi or staff?
For fire fans and poi you want unrestricted arms and shoulders, so a harness, bralette or fitted top beats loose sleeves. For fire staff, dragon staff and levi wand, keep your torso streamlined and let the light live in a harness, belt or fringe piece. In every case, keep loose fabric away from the flame and put the glow where it will not catch on your props.
Can you wear LED costumes while fire performing?
Yes, as your visual layer, not as flame protection. Our LED pieces are stagewear, not fire-retardant safety gear, so keep anything flame-facing to your fire-safe kit and use light-up pieces on the parts of your body and set that stay away from the fire. Many performers run LEDs during the walk-on, the transitions and the finale so the show still glows between burns.
Is fringe safe for fire performing?
Treat fringe as a look, not fire gear. Fringe and metallics are ideal for the non-flame parts of your act and for photos, but keep them clear of active flame and follow your own fire-safety standards. Pieces that sit away from your props, like a hat, harness or belt, are where fringe and LEDs shine.
How do you stay visible during a night fire show?
Fire is bright but brief. Between poi trails and fan bursts there are long stretches where a dark costume disappears. Adding LEDs, reflective metallics and light-up accessories keeps you readable from the back row for the whole set, and gives the crowd something to film even while the props cool.
Do you outfit fire troupes and flow-arts groups in bulk?
Yes. We do team and bulk orders and custom colorways so a whole fire or flow troupe can perform in one cohesive, camera-ready look. Tell us your roster size and the vibe of your show and we will build a plan and bulk pricing.
Can you make custom fire performer costumes?
Yes. We offer custom colors and made-to-order pieces so your look matches your act, your troupe, or a client's brand. Send your concept and prop list and we will design around it.
Where are you based and do you ship to fire performers nationwide?
We are a US-based, woman-owned brand and ship across the United States, for festival circuits, residencies and one-off gigs alike.
