Pom divisions and bids at The Dance Summit 2027
Pom is offered for Tiny, Mini, Youth and Junior teams in 2027; Senior teams compete in Variety, and Open teams in Kick and Variety (source: Varsity: Dance Summit 2027 guide).
| Age group | Divisions offered |
|---|---|
| Tiny, Mini, Youth, Junior | Hip Hop, Jazz, Pom, Contemporary/Lyrical, Kick, Variety |
| Senior | Variety |
| Open | Kick, Variety |
Base Camp bids go to the top 3 teams in every division at Varsity All Star dance events and start in Prelims; At-Large bids start in Semi-Finals; both pay the full balance. Full Paid bids start in Semi-Finals with a credit of $933 per dancer (4 nights), $873 (3 nights) or $569 (commuter), not for the 2-night or Deluxe package or family members (source: Varsity: Dance Summit 2027 pricing). Division champions get Dance Summit rings.
Dance Summit and Summit package prices since 2023
The 2027 Summit, D2 Summit and Dance Summit sheets list the same package rates, and the cheapest one has gone up every season, as The Cheer Buzz pointed out (source: The Cheer Buzz):
| Season | Cheapest hotel package (2 nights, value, 4 per room) | Commuter |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 | $698 | $432 |
| 2024 | $739 | $456 |
| 2025 | $759 | $485 |
| 2026 | $784 | $510 |
| 2027 | $843 | $569 |
That is $145 more per person since 2023 and $59 more than last season. The trip will cost what it costs. What a director controls is what the program buys once and keeps.

End-of-season options for pom teams: The Dance Summit and Worlds
Most all-star pom programs are chasing one of two end-of-season events:
| Event | Run by | Pom divisions | Bids |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Dance Summit | Varsity All Star | Tiny, Mini, Youth and Junior Pom | Base Camp, At-Large, Full Paid |
| The Dance Worlds | IASF | Junior Pom, Open Pom and Open Coed Pom, 6 to 30 members | Partial-Paid, At-Large |
The Cheerleading Worlds is the cheer event, and athletes don’t cross over between it and The Dance Worlds (sources: IASF: 2027 dance bid form, IASF: dance age grid).
How do all-star dance programs budget an end-of-season trip?
Split the trip into lines and decide early who pays for what.
| Line | 2027 price | Plan it with |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel package | $843 to $933 per dancer at the value resort, four to a room | Families, less any paid bid credit |
| Commuter package | $569 per dancer or coach | Families who book their own room |
| Family tickets | $519 for 2 days, up to $785 for 5 | Families |
| Crossover fees | $100 for 3 performances, up to $250 for 6 | The program or families |
| Light-up poms | $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs, bought once | The program or booster club |
Deadlines follow the month you qualify: a November qualifier registers by December 2, 2026 and pays in full by January 20, 2027. Four to a room saves $90 a person over two on the 2-night value package (source: Varsity: Dance Summit 2027 pricing).
A pom set pays back every season

The travel bill resets every year. The poms don’t. At $120 a pair on 10 or more pairs, 20 pairs is $2,400. If the set serves three seasons, that is $800 a season, or $40 a dancer a season. Sending the same 20 dancers on the cheapest 2027 package is $16,860, and that bill comes back next year.
| Team | Pairs | Cost at the team rate | Per season over 3 seasons | Per dancer per season |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 dancers | 10 | $1,200 | $400 | $40 |
| 20 dancers | 20 | $2,400 | $800 | $40 |
| 24 dancers | 24 | $2,880 | $960 | $40 |
The LEDs are built into the pom itself, not one light in the handle, under metallic streamers. Each pom weighs 7 oz and runs 3 to 4 hours per charge on a rechargeable pack; white and rainbow drain faster. One remote changes the whole team’s color, so one set covers team colors, theme nights, showcases and the banquet. More on poms built to last.
What a real team ordered: the Purdue Golduster Dance Team

The Purdue Golduster Dance Team, the dance line of the Purdue “All-American” Marching Band, ordered 24 pairs of our light-up pom poms in September 2026 and performed with them on the field at a night home football game, switching colors from one remote. At our team rate, 24 pairs is $2,880. Read the Purdue Goldusters case study.
