Ballroom, Legendary, and a western ball
Ballroom is a Black and Latine LGBTQIA+ performance culture built around “houses” — chosen families who compete by walking categories at balls. The House of Balmain won the first season of HBO’s Legendary, and along the way wore Neon Cowboys light-up hats for a western-themed ball. Members of that house, led by Jamari Amour, went on to found the House of Marc Jacobs — the first ballroom house blessed by the designer it’s named after.
An L.A. collaboration
Neon Cowboys is a Los Angeles brand, and so is the house — so when it came time for our LA Fashion Week showcase, we built it together. The House of Marc Jacobs performed the runway in our full light-up collection: a glowing, high-energy walk that put ballroom’s artistry and our wearable light technology on the same stage.
Everyone walks: a runway for the whole room
After the performance, we did something most fashion shows never do — we invited the audience up to walk the runway, each in a light-up neon cowboy hat. It turned a fashion show into a celebration of love, light, fun and community: everyone included, everyone glowing, everyone getting their moment to have a ball.
It’s the kind of night Neon Cowboys exists for. Explore our Pride & LGBTQIA+ light-up looks.
