How to:
Today’s blog post is definitely one about self expression. It’s really up to you to put as many colors or patterns as you want. So feel free to get creative with it as much as you like.
First, remove the inverter from inside. This will allow you to have more flexibility in maneuvering the bag when drawing on it. Then I started by cleaning the exterior of my belt bag with a Lysol wipe. My bag had been used previously at other music festivals so it needed a quick wipe off and dust down.
Now for the fun part! Just start doodling. For mine, I was inspired by daisies and mehndi. I absolutely adore daisies with its bold golden center. Growing up going to a lot of my cultural events, mehndi was always such a fascinating art form and inspired a lot of my doodling as a kid and to now.
Keep in mind that these Posca markers take a while to dry. So watch out for smudges and use a Lysol wipe to help clean any mistakes you might have.
For the front pockets, I wanted to keep the same pattern but wanted to draw the Neon Cowboys logo in white so that it would pop with the rest of the newly decorated bag.
Overall, this project took me about 2 and a half hours to complete. It was a little difficult not to smudge sometimes but go slowly and wait for things to dry and enjoy!
What do you think?
Stay tuned for a studded belt bag next!
Love your Neon Cowboy, Mirai
