Social Media Strategist

Neon Cowboys is looking for a Social Strategist Intern. This is a rare opportunity for an exceptional talent who thrives off making their mark within a company destined for greatness vs. inserting themselves into a company that's already fully defined.

This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operations Officer who will look to the Social Strategist Intern to help architect Neon Cowboys Social philosophy and elevate our product. This talent will also be leading day-to- day social strategic development on brands. The talent should get inspired by bringing creative big ideas to life across Social channels, and guiding brands in fully leveraging Social to create deeper relationships with consumers.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recommending and instituting best-of- class social media software and partner relationships Audience and social behavior insight analytics

  • Auditing brands current strategies across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, Google+ and creating/executing a vision for what’s next/trending

  • Development of brand social and global culture Tracking of competitive brands Trend thought-leadership – providing POVs  (point of view) on emerging social trends and the impact they have on consumer behavior

  • Creating a content management structure (i.e., platform cadence, influencer strategy, work processes inclusive of the client and agency partners, analytics and reporting pre and post campaign)

  • Digital content sourcing for the purpose of finding images related to Neon Cowboys and engaging Social platform strategy development

  • Content creation (from real-time responsiveness, producing brand imagery, creative captions that produce user engagement, daily postings, sweepstakes/sponsorships to quarterly campaigns)

  • Outreach and community management (monitoring social conversation, turning social followers into brand advocates)

  • Providing input throughout any brand and creative strategy development efforts led by the Chief Executive Officer, so that Social is never an afterthought
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You are in your third or final year in a four-year undergraduate program, or out of school

  • You are able to attend events that take place outside of regular work hours (where applicable)

  • You are a proactive problem-solver -- you can Google with the best of them and aren't afraid to dig a little for an answer or solution

  • You are self-motivated & communicative

  • You are able to work independently when necessary and troubleshoot any issues that arise, but not afraid to reach out when you need more guidance or clarity

  • You are a strong writer and enjoy inventing story ideas

  • You love interacting with people, whether that is over the phone, email, social media or at events

  • You are detail and results oriented - ie. lists, spreadsheets, editing and recap reports excite you

  • You are dependable and able to effectively manage your time

  • You love to consume media and have a deep knowledge of the landscape - websites, blogs, magazines, newspapers, broadcast and beyond

  • You stay on top of trends in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, design, music, and more

  • You are always willing to pitch in for any task - large, small or administrative

  • You have experience using Google applications (Google Analytics), proficient in Microsoft, Adobe Photoshop

  • You are familiar with Instagress, Repost, and Boomerang

  • You have had previous PR and media relations experience
