Digital Design Intern

We're always scouting talented designers to bring the good vibes of Neon Cowboys to life. If you were born with creative ideas popping out of your head and are more familiar with Adobe than the back of your hand, please give us a shout.

We're looking for driven, independent designers to integrate with our full-time team on various ongoing and new project engagements. This position has potential to be both on-site or remote.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with teams to develop a wide variety of print, online, video, and digital projects

  • Develop creative design solutions for limited screen real estate and mobile

  • Generate storyboards and prototypes that outline interaction, animation, and/or motion graphics

  • Develop intimate knowledge of information design, including semantic information for the web, and user interface issues such as browser / platform constraints and capabilities

  • Create initial concepts, functional design solutions, site grids, moodboards, and interface demos

  • Develop interactive prototypes of new websites, products, and application experiences

  • Eliminate and refine existing designs to enhance and optimize the experience

  • Scope projects and participate in project definition phases

  • Validate your decisions and push for the best user experience

  • Contribute to the innovative development of the creative department

  • To build mock-ups for the Neon Cowboys website and print; collaborating closely with Chief Executive Office and Chief Operations Officer to build new page prototypes.

  • Stay current with digital and industry trends

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Self-motivated, independent, and well versed in freelance etiquette

  • Proven freelance experience on remotely-managed teams

  • 2-3 years experience in digital design

  • Online portfolio of work displaying versatile, tasteful design

  • Spatial and environmental problem solver

  • Strong grasp of site maps, wireframes, and content inventory documents

  • Expert knowledge of project planning software

  • Expert knowledge of visual design software including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

  • Functional knowledge of iWork (particularly Keynote) and Microsoft Office

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Functional knowledge of basic front-end development (HTML, CSS, and Javascript)

  • Firm understanding of the latest and legacy browser capabilities, including mobile

  • Ability to work as a team, with or without supervision

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with both teams and clients
